Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer

Anastasia Beverly Hills is one of my favorite beauty brands. I love their brow products and their eyeshadows are amazing! I have their liquid lipsticks and highlighters on my wishlist too. They make some of the best brow products out there I think. I have the brow wiz, brow pomade, brow powder duo, clear brow gel and their tweezers and I love them all. I also have two of their eyeshadow palettes which are some of my favorites.

I used their brow products, especially the brow wiz for a while and I can definitely see why it’s so hyped. A few months ago, I found the It Cosmetics Brow Power pencil and I was hooked. I loved the flat and thicker tip as it cut the time it takes me to shape and fill my brows. When I saw Anastasia was coming out with the brow definer, which has a similar tip, I had to get it. Keep reading below for my thoughts on the new Brow Definer from Anastasia Beverly Hills.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer:

Description from website: This retractable pencil—which took two years to formulate and perfect—has a unique, triangular tip that can be used three different ways to outline and fill brows.

How To Use:

Thin: Use the sharpest point of the tip to create fine, hair-like strokes.
Medium: Use the back side of the pencil to create thicker, hair-like strokes.
Wide: Use the pencil on its side to create broad strokes.

My Thoughts:

I had been practically drooling over all the mini-videos for this product on Anastasia’s Instagram feed. I mean, it was basically brow porn! I loved how creamy this looked and how easy it looked to apply and how defined the edges looked. When my local Sephora finally got it in stock, I got mine that same day. I hate to say this, because I love their products so much, but I was very disappointing by this product.

You know that creamy application that I wanted? I didn’t get it. Instead, my brow definer felt very hard and stiff and I really had to press down hard to get any color and the payoff wasn’t even good. Because I had to press so hard, I didn’t end up getting any of those sharp lines I was hoping for either. I will say that I got mine in the color Taupe, because I love the cool toned blonde shade, and when I went back to look for videos and reviews for that same Taupe shade, they all looked hard like mine was. Even the lady at Sephora mentioned that the other colors weren’t like that and I swatched a few of them and they were much creamier and nicer.

As you can see below, the first and last swatches are using the same pressure I always use to apply my brow pencils with. The first is the flat side and the last one is the ‘sharp’ edge. The swatch in the middle is with me having to use a lot of pressure! I ended up having to return mine the week after, because it didn’t do what I got it for and $23 is a lot to spend on a brow pencil that I won’t be using. For now, until they fix the issue with the Taupe color, I’ll stick to my It Cosmetics Brow Power. Have you used this product yet? If so, what color did you get and was it creamy?
