August Beauty Product Obsessions!

August is pretty much over so I thought it would be the perfect time to share some of the items I was obsessing over this past month. Check out my favorites below:

August Obsessions:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Shadow Couture World Traveler ($30) – I wanted a few really good high quality eye shadow palettes to invest with and after much thought and research, I ended up buying two and this was one of them. I am soooo in love with this palette and I can’t believe how amazing the quality is for the price. I know $30 seems like a lot, but considering most eye palettes are anywhere from $40-65, it was a steal!

Tarte Tartlette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette ($44) – This was the other eye palette I ended up with, and my first ever expensive makeup product. I love drugstore products and firmly believe you don’t need to spend a lot to get good makeup, but eye shadows are the one thing I think are worth investing in. I have yet to find a good quality drugstore eye shadow. I love matte eye shadows and these nude/taupe/mauve color combos are amazing! You can create so many different looks with this. Simple, daytime, nighttime, smoky, you name it! I use this almost every single day.

Tarte Park Ave Princess Contour Palette Vol. II ($34) – Bronzer/contour, blush and highlighter. This palette has it all! The bronzer shade is a little bit too warm for my very pale skin, but I still use it lightly. The blush is what I have been wearing ever single day since I got this. It’s the perfect mauve kind of pink that I was looking for and pretty much retired all the other blushes I had. This highlight shade is has a very golden shimmer to it, very pretty.

L’Oreal Colour Riche Balm Pop in Tender Mauve ($8) – I love tinted lip balms and since I was running a little low on my Fresh Sugar version, I went on the hunt for a drugstore dupe. This isn’t exactly a substitute since I consider this more of a sheer lipstick, but I still love it either way. The color is perfect and has just the right amount of color and shine. I wear it alone or over my other lipsticks to give it a bit of a pop.

Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation in Creamy Natural 110 ($8) – I know I’m new to the whole foundation game and I don’t have very many, but I know already what I like and which ones I don’t (I’ve already returned some I wasn’t a fan of). Out of the 3 foundations I use and all the ones I’ve tried, this one is my favorite. I also like to use it mixed with another foundation (more below).

Maybeline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation in Classic Ivory 120 ($8) – This was my first ever foundation and I’m so glad I went with this option. I love the finish and it doesn’t look greasy on me at all. The color is a bit dark for me so I have to find a lighter one, but I do mix it with the Cover Girl foundation and it becomes a great match that way. Next time, I’ll go with the shade 115.

E.L.F Eyeshadow Primer in Sheer ($3) – I can’t watch a youtube makeup tutorial without them using eye primer so I was definitely curious. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on something I wasn’t even sure to begin with, but I have heard that the elf primer is a great dupe so I went with that one. You just can’t beat $3 for a good product. I can’t believe how much nicer my eye shadow looks with this. I even like how it looks alone without any shadow. I’ll probably just end up buying another one of these when I’m done with it because it’s such a great product.

Nyx Liquid Black Liner ($7) – Loooove this eyeliner! I’ve always used an eyeliner with a felt tip applicator, but this thin brush is so much easier to apply. I can also do a think line or a thick, dramatic wing.

Nyx Wonder Pencil in Light ($4.50) – I’ve had this for a few months and it wasn’t until I started using this to line my lower waterline that I fell in with it. Before I was just using it on my lips and to conceal here and there, but this really does make your eyes look bigger and makes the look pop out more.

Those are my August obsessions, have you used any of these products before? What were some of your August favorites?
