Disappointing Beauty Products

I’ve recently gotten more into makeup, before I just used to use drugstore products (which I still love), but I’ve been experimenting more with non-drugstore beauty products lately. I’ve found some really amazing products, but not all of them have been winners. There have been a few products that either aren’t a good match for me specifically, I didn’t like it for the price or I was just flat-out disappointed.

Just because I didn’t like this, doesn’t mean they are bad products. They just didn’t work for me for some reason or another. There are a few Tarte products on here but I LOVE some of their other products (like their Tartlette Palette). I wasn’t too impressed with the Anastasia Dip Brow but I absolutely love their shadow couture eye shadow palette. And this particular Nyx brow product didn’t work for me, but I happen to loooooove Nyx. Just something to keep in mind. Here are a few recent products that I was disappointed with.

Disappointing Beauty Products:

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Full Coverage Foundation w/ SPF 15 ($39) – Not only was the color off for my skin (too yellow) but the foundation clung to my pores and any dry skin patches. It was not flattering on my skin at all! This has great products so it might work better for people that don’t have dry skin. I ended up returning this and got the Ready Set Gorgeous foundation from Cover Girl ($8), which I love.

Tarte Colored Clay Tinted Brow Gel ($21) – I had heard good things about this product, but the wand is sooooo freaking tiny and skinny, t literally felt like there was no product on the brush at all! I don’t have much brow hairs, which made this even worse. I returned this one right away.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil ($21) – This was actually a good product, I got the shade Taupe which was unfortunately a little bit too blond for my liking. I prefer the BH Cosmetics, Smashbox and the Nyx eyebrow pencils instead.

Benefit They’re Real! Lengthening Mascara ($24) – Ugh, this was a disaster for me. Mascara and I don’t really get along to begin with. I got this as a Sephora perk and every single time I’ve tried to use it, it leaves my eyelashes looking like a clumpy hot mess. Not only does it clump my eyelashes, it also weighs them down so they fall almost straight down. I even tried using this on my lower lashes only, and it still didn’t look good.

Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade ($18) – This is a product a lot of people swear by, you have to use it VERY lightly but it was an okay product. I like to use it for when I go to the waterpark because it’s waterproof, but my issue is that is dries up (in the container) pretty quickly. This should come in a tube instead of a tub. I still have this, but it’s dried out and I found a better (and cheaper dupe) so I rarely use this.

Nyx Tame & Frame Brow Promade ($7) – This was just too light for me, I got it in blonde (I should have gotten Taupe) but it felt a little bit too.. dry to really get any kind of color output on my brows.

OGX Coconut Water Shampoo & Conditioner ($6 each) – I got this because it said it was a weightless product but it made my hair feel so dirty and heavy, I hated this! I ended up giving it to my girls to use up since I had 3 bottles.

Also, not listed is the Anastasia Brow Wiz eyebrow pencil. I got one and it kept breaking off so I returned it the next day. There are sooo many dupes for that product.

Anyway, have you tried any of these products? Did you love them or were they misses for you too?
