Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Vs. Loreal Colour Riche Balm Pop

Lip balms are one of my most favorite beauty products, especially tinted lip balms. Most of the time, I use these instead of lipstick because I always have to have some kind of balm on my lips and why not add some tint while I’m at it?

I was really wanting to try one of the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments for a really long time, but they are soooo expensive (for a lip balm)! I think they are $22-24 each. I finally caved a few months ago and I’m kind of obsessed with it.

I’ve noticed that tinted lip balms are pretty trendy right now, I even saw some knockoffs at the drugstore and I’m a sucker for drugstore products. The one that caught my eye was the L’Oreal Colour Riche Balm (I got the Pop version which has more color than the normal version). This was significantly cheaper at $8.

So do you splurge or save on tinted lip balms? I’ll compare them for you below. ?

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment:

This is super moisturizing and creamy and feels amazing on your lips. The tint is that perfect ‘barely there’ color that is great for every day makeup or when you want to go for a more minimal look. It last a really long time on my lips (the moisturizing part of it anyway since the color can easily come off after a while), but my most favorite thing about this lip balm is the smell. OMG, the smell is amazing! I would probably buy it again for taht reason alone.

You get a really good amount of balm in the tube, I’ve had mine for 2-3 months and I think I could get another month out of it (I use it every day). The tube is metal and sturdy and the cap twists on and off, which is great so the cap can’t somehow come undone in your purse or something.

The only downsides to this for me, are the price and I’ve they are pretty delicate. I heard they melt really easy, but I live in Arizona and while I don’t leave it in my car or anything, mine is still perfectly fine.

Loreal Colour Riche Balm Pop

At only $8, this is a great alternative to those higher priced tinted balms! The color payoff is great, even better than the Fresh Sugar (and other ones I’ve tried like the Dior balm), and the color last a really long time. They are as creamy and moisturizing as the ones above and feel great on my lips.

My complaints with this is that it feels more like a very sheer lipstick instead of a balm like the Fresh Sugar one. And it;s missing that great smell. The packaging is very cute, although it opened in my purse the first time I had it in there. But it’s all good since all I have to do is put it in a little pouch. Other than that, this was such a great product, I love the color of it alone and I also like wearing it over my other lipsticks because it makes the color even better, plus I get a more creamier feel.

Splurge or Save?

I think this would all come down to personal preference and how much you like lip balms and tinted lip balms. I LOVE lip balms (I’m kind of obsessed with them) so I don’t regret buying the Fresh Sugar version and I would definitely buy it again. I’m dying to try other colors. But the Loreal Balm was such a great product too and you can’t beat the price. I am definitely gonna buy more of these too and in different shades.

If you love lip balms, I would go with the Fresh Sugar product. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to a great tinted lip balm, the Loreal Balm product is a great option. So I guess my answer would be both. ?

Have you tried any of these or other tinted lip balms? Any recs?
