In May, This Girl Was Obsessed With…

I feel like I found a few beauty products that I easily became obsessed with. Some were things I got with my birthday money and others freebies from Sephora but they are all things that I absolutely loved and that I would repurchase again. I’m super excited for June because I have the Anastasia Beverly Hills Renaissance palette to look forward to (I loooove ABH palettes, my palette gets here on Friday) and a few other things I want to try including new drugstore makeup. Here are the things this girl was obsessed with in May.

In May, This Girl Was Obsessed With:

BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes 28-Color Eyeshadow Palette ($12): I appreciate the hell out of a good and pigmented eyeshadow, especially a foiled or metallic shadow. But I don’t want to pay $6-9 for a single eyeshadow pan like the makeup geek foiled shadows. I have a few Makeup Geek Shadows and while I like them, I think BH Cosmetics shadows are better. I’ve had my eye on this palette for months because it’s supposed to be a dupe for the Makeup Geek foiled shadows and it’s only $12 for 28 eyeshadows. I finally got it last month and I’m obsessed with this palette! The pigment is just amazing and my cousin and sister (who have the MUG shadows) swatched them and said they were dupes too. I decided to take them out of the original case and instead put them in this Z-palette and it looks so much prettier.

Sephora Large Z Palette ($28): Now, this wasn’t something I needed. My shadows were perfectly fine in the original packaging, but I have been wanting a large Z Palette for a while now because I think shadows look so much nicer on them and they are easier to travel with. It was super easy to transfer all my shadows into this palette and although the shadows weren’t magnetized, I used the stickers it came with and it took like 5 minutes to transfer them all to my Z Palette. Now I want to put all my BH Cosmetics shadows into Z Palettes!

Bare Minerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo ($32): I reviewed this last week and I am so in love with this little palette. It’s my first product from Bare Minerals and now I want to try everything from their brand. This gives you the most subtle and beautiful glow and it’s supposed to be a dupe for the Hourglass highlighters. See my full review here.

BH Cosmetics/Shaaanxo Eye and Lip Palette ($14.50): I love Shannon, she’s my favorite youtuber and since I love BH Cosmetics, getting this palette was a no brainer. This palette is double sided with 9 eyeshadows on one side and 9 lip colors on the other side. I’m obsessed with the lip side of the palette especially. I reviewed this palette last week, you can see swatches of all eye and lip shades and a closer look inside the palette here.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation ($39): I love light foundations, I’m just not that talented to apply heavy-duty foundation without it looking cakey or like I have a mask. I loved that this foundation was water based and I loved that it was from Tarte since I love their brand. I ended up getting the shade Fair Light Neutral which is the perfect shade for me not too pink or too yellow. I’ve been wearing this a lot lately. Unfortunately, since I’ve been out on the sun a lot lately I now have a tan and this color is a touch too light for me at the moment. But this foundation is amazing!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner: I got this as a freebie from Sephora and loved it so much that I went back a few days later to get another free one. Best things that I’ve used my Sephora points on! When I finish the two samples I have, I’m for sure buying a full-sized version of it. I’m really picky about eyeliner and this tip is just perfection. I love that the tip is precise and that the liner distributes evenly since I feel like most eyeliners are a bit too dry. Loooove this eyeliner!

Maybelline Lash Sensational in Waterproof ($8): I have never really been a fan of mascara, sometimes I wouldn’t even wear any because my lashes hate mascara. They are thin and short and no matter what mascara I would try, after about 5 seconds of applying mascara my lashes would go straight down, no matter how much I curled them before and after. I got this mascara on a whim during a grocery run and I was shocked that this not only made my lashes full and long, but it actually held my curl all day. I even like to wear this mascara alone without eyeliner since I like the way my lashes look now. Best mascara I’ve ever tried!
