I discovered cleansing oils last year and have found it to be the best thing to remove my makeup. I have been using the Garnier cleansing oil for months (I went through 3 bottles) but after my last bottle finished a few weeks ago and I haven’t been able to find it at any of the stores I go to. I finally caved and decided to try out the Neutrogena Ultra Light Cleansing Oil since I really needed a cleanser to remove my makeup and I prefer oils.
I was a little bit annoyed that I hadn’t been able to find the Garnier cleansing oil (to this day, I still can’t find it) but since I have really liked some other Neutrogena cleansers in the past, I decided to go with this one. It’s very important to me that cleansers are light, especially for my eyes since they are super sensitive since I got Lasik surgery a few years ago. Even makeup wipes burn my eyes. Since eye makeup is the most stubborn part of my makeup to remove, I needed something that would be safe for my eyes and wouldn’t irritate them. I was very happy that I could use this oil to remove all my eye makeup (with my eyes closed) and that it didn’t irritate it burn at all! This cleansing oil does a really good job at ‘melting’ my makeup away. I’ve had dryer skin lately and the oil makes it feel clean, hydrated and refreshed.
I’m glad I was able to find this as an alternative and I really like that the oil doesn’t leak everywhere (like the Garnier version). I do notice that I have to use 2-3 pumps instead of the 1-2 pumps I was used to using and that I have to spend a little bit more time on my eyes. But, that could very well be due to the fact that I recently started using waterproof eyeliner. I am really sensitive to smells and this has a very light, slightly…fruity? scent that I actually really like. It doesn’t smell artificial it’s very pleasant to use.
Do you use cleansing oils? If so, which ones are your favorites?
