I’m obsessed with brow products, I see a brow product and I want it. I need it! I’ve tried sooo many brow products, from Elf to Nyx to drugstore to Smashbox to Anastasia Beverly Hills and so many more. I have found some favorites and some disappointing products over the last few months. I firmly believe that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on a good quality product. But I also know that some products are worth spending more money on.
My main problem with brow products is finding a good taupe color. I love cool toned brow products so I’m always looking for that good blonde/light brown with just the right amount of gray to it. Both of these meet the criteria, although the tinted wax in the BH Cosmetics palette is more golden toned. As you can see, the swatches are very similar. Even though the first ABH swatch looks a bit lighter, that has more to do with the window hitting it from that side. The powders last a long time, even longer if you use a brow mascara/gel.
So do you splurge or save on brow powders? I’ll compare them for you below. 🙂
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo (Taupe):
I had a good brow product already (the BH one) but I kept hearing so much about this product and well, I had to try it for myself. I loved that there was a taupe shade and I really liked the combination of both shades, although I mostly use the light one. I use this with a brow pen with an eyebrow brush to fill in my brows, to give it a more natural look.
Even though this was more on the pricier side, I think it was totally worth it. I’m not sure if I would buy it again considering the BH one is so similar, but I don’t regret buying it and I use it almost daily. ABH always has good quality products and this is another great product from them.
BH Cosmetics Flawless Brow Trio (Light):
It always surprises me how little of BH Cosmetics I see around because they have amazing products at affordable prices. Actually, the prices are so low that I debated even trying it at all a few months ago. I was sure something that cheap has to be… cheap. But I saw the great reviews and decided to give it a shot and now I can’t stop buying their products!
The two powders in this trio are so good and pretty much the same shades as the ABH brow duo. I use the lighter color and even though it technically isn’t a taupe color, it has a very cool tone to it that makes it a perfect match for my brows. The wax in the trio is really good too, but unfortunately it’s a little too golden toned for my liking. I love that the kit has a brush already included and a good-sized mirror. Best of all, it’s less than $6! That’s cheaper than drugstore brow products. Another winner from BH Cosmetics.
Splurge or Save?
I think ABH is ‘the’ must have brand for brows, but BH Cosmetics is a great option! I’ve been using the Flawless Brow Trio for months and even though I recently bought the ABH Brow Powder Duo (which I also love), I still use both because they are so similar in terms of quality, color and finish. If you want to splurge on a brow powder, the ABH option is worth the money. If you’re looking for a good quality dupe for a lot less, you can’t go wrong with the Flawless Brow Trio from BH Cosmetics.
Have you tried any of these products yet? Which one works best for you? Any other brow powders you love?
