Since I do a weekly recap and book haul on my book blog, I thought it would be fun to do a non-book related one on here…
The Weekend Update:
I don’t know if it’s just because I’m getting older (I’ll be 29 in May) or if I’m trying to feel more adult-y, but I’ve been in this kick for the last few months to change things in my life. It all started with the health kick last December, which is not a good month to decide to start eating healthier btw. It started with little things: eating less, if I’m in the mood for sweets or chocolate I get the tiniest sizes they have, drinking a lot more water, walking, etc.
We all even got bikes so we can squeeze in bike riding as exercise on the weekends. I noticed the difference right away and when I went down a pant size, it motivated me to try harder at this. I’m now two sizes smaller and almost back to my pre-baby jeans and I hope some new changes will help drop some more pounds!
The next change is taking better care of my skin. Or any care at all should say because I’ve never really taken care of my face. The only thing I use on my face is blush and I don’t even wash my face with anything other than water. Most nights I even fall asleep with my makeup on, which I hear is terrible to do. I really despise putting anything on my face like lotion and I just can’t for the life of me figure out how to use foundation/powder/concealer. My skin has been fine all this years, but I have started to notice some dry/irritated patches of skin on my face lately so last week I went on the hunt for some face cleansers and products and found a few things I’m really happy with.
– I bought a new vanity makeup mirror. I love this mirror with the touch of sparkle on it. I used to hop on my sink counter to apply my eyeliner before, but now I use this mirror instead.
