This time I’m sharing my top 10 goals I hope to achieve for the month of October.
Top 10 October Goals
Have posts up regularly. I’m aiming for every day, but I hate dong any blog stuff so that day will probably be out. But I do hope to get in the habit of posting almost every day on here. I’ve been doing it for the past 2-3 weeks and I’ve really been noticing a difference.
Schedule posts ahead of time. I’m terrible at scheduling posts ahead of time, I can never do it on my book blog either. If you see a post on here, I just wrote it. This results in missed posts if I’m particularly extra busy that day. I need to try to schedule posts ahead of time.
Draw/sketch more. I don’t really miss my job, but I do miss the creative outlet it provided and how it fed my love for fashion design. I miss working on samples, and sketching garments and fixing pattern mistakes. I bought a journal to draw more but I forget to do it. Even just drawing up some silly sketches would be good for my creative mind.
Find ‘me’ time. Between work and family and my extra job of taking care of a baby, not to mention blog duties (I have two of them), that leaves almost zero me time. I miss having time to read or just even laying down to watch a movie or tv show (non-netflix). Right now, my me time is my weekly Target trips (they are somehow so relaxing), but I need to make more me time.
Finding workouts I can do at home. I was doing really good going to the gym 2-3 times a week for a few months, but once I started taking care of the baby, that went away and I miss that feel-good after gym feeling. I have some small weights and know I can do some workouts at home, but I feel silly doing them in front of other people. Even if it’s my kids. Now that they started school, I have no excuses.
Improve blog photos. I love pretty blog photos and I felt limited because I don’t have one of those really fancy cameras. But I’ve been checking out a lot of how-to posts lately and I think I can improve on my pictures. I’m gonna try anyway!
Find some nice fitting jeans. I’m really short (4′ 10 1/2″) and it’s nearly impossible to find good fitting jeans for my height. Even if they fit right anywhere else, if I were to cut the extra 10″ inches at the bottom, the fit in the leg just isn’t the same. I used to find jeans for my height at Charlotte Russe but I don’t think they carry them anymore and since I lost some weight, I need new jeans stat!
Master or at least improve SEO. I’ve been blogging for almost 4 years and I never knew what the hell SEO was until last week. Kind of embarrassing. I finally learned what and how to use it and I’m slowly getting better at it.
Get ready early in the morning. Since I work from home and I don’t really go anywhere in the day, I would sometimes wait until 4-5 in the afternoon to do my hair and makeup. Sometimes I would even put my makeup on like at 7-8 at night, which was silly but I like girling myself up. Now that my girls go to school and I have to be up early anyway, I’m trying to shower and get ready early in the morning.
Set a daily schedule. This is a big one for me. My schedule is kind of all over the place, but I really need to set one for my mental sanity, I think. I get up at 6am and the bus picks up my girls at 6:50, I want to set a consistent eat/work/answer emails/update blogs/make dinner/clean daily schedule. This will probably be the most challenging for me but I need to get it done.
