I’ll admit that I’m too lazy to wear foundation every day, most of the time I either use BB cream or powder foundation because I prefer a light and more natural coverage. The other foundation I use (Maybelline Dream Velvet, which I love!) also provides a light coverage, but I still only wear it on weekends. This foundation is so freaking stunning that I actually want to wear it everyday. Because of the price tag, I refrain from using it every day, but I do wear it a lot and I’m obsessed with it! I love affordable makeup, but there are times when I do like to splurge on certain brands and Tarte Cosmetics is one of them. Their products are so amazing and I always know I’m getting my money’s worth. I’ve been after a water based foundation for a few months, and when the Rainforest of the Sea collection was announced, I knew I had to have this foundation.
I’m obsessed with this foundation! I’ve always been impressed with Tarte range selection of foundations, specifically their lighter shades in neutral undertones. I always struggle with finding a foundation that is light enough for me and has light undertones, most light foundations have a pink undertone to them. I was matched to the Fair Neutral shade, which I have to say is the most perfect shade I’ve ever used! This foundation is really unique because it’s very lightweight, but it can be built up to a full coverage. I personally like to use half a dropper of this for a very light and natural coverage, if you want more coverage, you use more. The finish is beautiful, very radiant and luminous and leaving your skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. It’s not at all cakey or heavy-looking and it does a fantastic job at covering up any imperfections (like my redness) without giving you that overly fake airbrushed look. It really does look like your skin, but so much better.
I know a lot of people like to apply this with a damp beauty blender, but I prefer to use my flat top brush (as always). Since this foundation is water based, I kind of feel like most of it will be absorbed with the water in the beauty blender. This foundation blends seamlessly and I love the packaging. Some dropper-type applicators tend to be messy, but this one is very easy to use. About the packaging: Tarte did such an amazing job with their packaging for this entire collection. The purple/blue/gold combination is stunning and I love the frosted glass bottle. I would be careful and wrap it if I were to travel with this, but this would make a great travel foundation. The fact that this has SPF in it is icing on the cake. For a no-fuss foundation kind of girl, it doesn’t get any easier than this. I love this enough to actually wear it everyday and will definitely be repurchasing once I finish this bottle.
